motylikI forgot to post about this on Tuesday because I was busy, but my mum told me over the phone (don't know why I didn't see it when I check the NHL page everyday) that one of my favourite slovakian NHL ice-hockey players Zednik had a really bad accident. The description grossed my boyfriend out so I'm putting it behind the cut. Read at your own risk.
Apparently, one of his team-mates got body checked and as he fell his feet flew up and he slashed Zednik's neck with his skate. He lost 2,5 litres of blood in a couple of seconds. Only reason he survived (his main arterie got slashed) was that he stuck his fingers into the wound and therefore bought a couple of seconds of time. He barely made it to the bench on his own. It took them 20 minutes to get the blood of the ice. And it was completly silent in the stadium until they announced that he was alright and then he got a standing ovation. When my mum started telling me this I thought he died. The words slashed, skate and neck, kind of implied that. I was in shock. Still am. Poor guy. I know he had some problems in his family last year and that's why he didn't play for a while and now this.
